The excellent table grapes from la Pernice are grown in the area near Mottola, on the hills above the famous “Conca d’Oro” area. We can divide grapes into two big families: white, with light coloured grapes (undertones of yellow to green) and red (from pink to black). Italy is the major producer of grapes on the world level and Apulia is one of the main grape-producing regions.
One of the best varieties of white table grapes in terms of quality and productivity, it is an early season variety and excellent for its organoleptic and aesthetic qualities. Crunchy pulp, sweet taste, with a 16-17% sugar concentration when ripe and seedless. The ripening period lasts from the beginning of August until October.
This variety is characterised by a bunch which weighs between 910 and 1345 grams. The berry has a spheroidal shape. Summer Royal is a firm grape with a very sweet flavour, having a very high sugar content. It contains vitamins and many other substances. The ripening period is in July/August.
The bunch is large, the berry has a yellow colour with an elongated shape. The skin has very little pruina, is medium thick and greenish-yellow; the pulp is crunchy and juicy with a neutral-sweet flavour. It contains highly digestible simple sugars, vitamins, organic acids, mineral salts and many other substances.
