La Pernice produces fruit and vegetables that are typically from Southern Italy and distributes them throughout Italy and abroad. The company has its main office in Apulia, in an uncontaminated area located between the cities of Turi (Bari) and Mottola (Taranto). It is spread over 300 hectares of direct crops and 10000 square metres of offices and structures for the refrigeration, preservation, washing and packaging of its products. It caters to European markets through channels of large distribution, handling products of first-rate selected quality which is the pride of the company and the main reason why international brands tied to large commercial distribution, choose it. Since 2005, the company has put into effect a program with interventions aimed at improving the company processes, obtaining the British Retail Consortium and International Food Standard Certifications.
La Pernice offers wide versatility regarding packaging, in order to meet the needs of its clients. In fact, it is possible to package our products in boxes ranging from 2 to 13 kilos for bulk and packages from 250 g to 2 kilos in baskets and netted trays or bags with legalised and variable weight from the application of the bar code provided by the client or company. The flowpack packaging can extend the shelf life of the product and improve the presentation on the store shelves. The company is particularly careful in transporting its products; an accurate selection of logistical partners guarantees safe and fast transport to National, European and International markets, thanks to the use of vehicles suitable for intercontinental transport of fruits and vegetables.
Production takes place with full observance of regulations. Our objective is to produce top quality fruits and vegetables with nutritional and organoleptic qualities while observing the natural maturation timing and ensuring safe food. The products come from an area with a large propensity in the Apulia and Basilicata Regions. The processing and packaging plants cover an area of 8,000 sqm which had been extended in 2010 and are equipped with new state-of-the-art technologies. The company has successfully planted an additional 300 hectares (about 370 acres) which became completely productive in 2012. Today, we are able to satisfy the requests of the most important national fruit and vegetable markets.
